19 Nepal Police Officers of the ranks of Dy. Inspector General of Police and Sr. Supdt. of Police visited the LNJN National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science on 17 July, 2019. Various aspects on Investigation of Bomb Explosions were discussed and laboratory demonstrations were also arranged. They were also demonstrated the use of DNA technology in identification of victims with example of illustrative cases solved using forensic evidence.
During visit to Biology Division, they were also demonstrated and explained the use of Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Collection kits for victims and accused and also collection of genital swabs beyond 4 days of the assault as the spermatozoa are likely to be detected upto three weeks of the Sexual Assault. They were also explained use of Fluorescent in situ Hyberibization techniques (Fish) in deducting male and female cells and also the use of DNA Sequencer in criminal cases.
